We stayed into the wee Hrs, after observing helicopters having to leave 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗻 Mountain due to lack of light. Winds also subsided into the Evening. The winds were initially blowing the Fire NorthEast, but as they calmed down, the fire started to move a bit near power lines, slowly tonight. Tonight's Jasper Alberta Wildfire observers witnessed more flare ups, along with the fire beginning to spread West as well as East. Some of the Fire continuing to the North faces became quite ferocious into the Evening.
Jasper's wildfire still poses no risk to the Jasper townsite, but a power outage is possible. The Municipality of Jasper and ATCO are working in close collaboration to prepare for a possible switch to generator power. ATCO equipment and crews are already in Jasper working to prepare for this scenario.

Specialized firefighters are on the ground and Parks Canada is working very closely with ATCO to protect the power poles, which have special fire protection wrapping and can withstand surface fire activity. Specialized structural protection contractors are being deployed to install high-volume sprinklers along critical infrastructure and visitor facilities.
Six helicopters are focused on bucketing water onto the lower slopes of Jasper's highly visible wildfire. There were 47 Parks Canada firefighters and personnel committed, with another 30 more joining the team Today - Sunday, Sept 4th.
Strong gusting winds along with unseasonably hot weather are making Jasper National Park firefighting efforts challenging. This fire is spreading Northeast on mid and upper slopes from Chetamon Mountain peak toward Vine Creek. As the winds died down in the late evening hours, the fire began spreading back down and West a bit, instead of just North East.
